SUNDAY CAFE
Asian Art Museum

Sep 2022 - Dec 2022
FREELANCE PROJECT
Located inside the San Francisco Asian Art Museum, I collaborated with the general manager to both service and design initiatives, helping develop creative concepts and visual mockups for Sunday at the Museum Cafe's future launches. Inspired by the museum’s rich cultural heritage and openness to experimentation, I explored the intersection of art, food, and identity through thoughtful and design-driven collaboration.
PASTRY PACKAGING

I was responsible for conceptualizing and designing packaging for three pastry items: Light Forest Hill Green for Matcha Rice Krispies, White, Red, and Blue for the White Rabbit Candy Chocolate Cookie, and Purpureous Purple for the Ube Snickerdoodle Cookie. Each color palette was carefully chosen to represent and enhance the flavors of the pastries while reflecting traditional food influences. This project became a series of packaging designs that highlighted how food can embody cultural storytelling, blending heritage with contemporary design.

Packaging Inspiration

SIGNAGE
The “Reserved” sign mirrors the restaurant’s menu through simple, food-inspired icons. Pork Bun, chicken, Bibimbap bowls, and sandwiches, creating a warm and cohesive visual language that ties the dining and brand experience together.

APPAREL & MERCHANDISE
Sticker Design
My sticker designs draw inspiration from Sunday’s menu, celebrating its playful and flavorful approach to food. Popular menu items like the chicken katsu, kimchi seasoned popcorn chicken, and soy egg, translating them into appealing visuals. The chicken and the pig, both central to many of the restaurant’s protein dishes, became recurring characters in my illustrations. Each to embody the joy and spirit of Sunday by bringing them to life through fun activities like surfing and playful adventures, reflecting the restaurant’s creative and uplifting energy.

T-Shirt Design
T-shirt designs draw the same inspiration and its playful spirit. The chicken and pig appear. For the t shirts, I reimagined them in a classic, minimalist graphic style as a chef and cook duo, symbolizing creativity and collaboration in Sunday’s kitchen.
